Welcome to Wychwood Farm

Working in harmony with nature to nurture Wychwood’s land and heritage.

Grazing since 1947

At the heart of Wychwood is a working farm, shaped by generations of family stewardship and a deep love for the land.
Today, Wychwood’s farm is a sanctuary for wildlife, a champion of sustainability, and home to one of the largest flocks of rare Norfolk Horn sheep in the country — a living connection to Wychwood’s rich farming heritage.

At Wychwood, the farm is gently shaped by a philosophy of care and stewardship.

Sustainability and conservation are at the heart of everything we do, from encouraging wildlife and regenerating habitats to treading lightly across the landscape. Our flock of rare Norfolk Horn sheep — lovingly reintroduced to Wychwood — is part of the farm’s living story.

Across timeless woodlands, glittering ponds, wildflower meadows, and wide-open parkland, we’re nurturing a landscape rich in beauty, life, and history. Here, every walk, every view, and every season brings something new to discover, as we grow thoughtfully, welcoming many new faces to become part of the next chapter.

Our commitment is simple — to enhance Wychwood’s natural beauty for generations to come. Every part of the farm is managed to encourage wildlife, improve soil health, restore woodlands, and protect watercourses, all while maintaining the farm’s timeless landscape.
After discovering an old family photograph showing flocks once grazing Wychwood’s fields, Charles Watt, Mary’s eldest son, reintroduced the rare Norfolk Horn sheep in 2015. Today, Wychwood is home to one of the largest flocks of this important native breed — a living link to the land’s farming story.
Our ancient woods, shimmering ponds, open fields, and wild corners are cared for with a light touch — creating a patchwork of thriving habitats across the farm. Whether wandering through dappled woodland or walking beside the lakes, guests experience the richness and calm that nature brings.
At Wychwood, the future is rooted in balance. We are expanding native woodlands, encouraging biodiversity, and welcoming a community of visitors who share our passion for land, life, and legacy.
